Hi! I'm David Munilla. My name is well known through my work as a photographer in the
mountain and climbing magazines around the world, also as an author of books and topo guides on climbing.

I have lived in Andalucia for many years and was one of the fathers of Andalusia’s rock climbing sport introducing the sportive in the mid-80s opening a lot of climbing routes and spreading the sport through my photos and articles publishing it in all the main climbing and mountain magazines.I've been climbing in Andalucía for over 40 years and know perfectly each of its crags. Actually I have more than 1000 bolted routes opened in different climbing areas. My experience in the world of climbing is not only being behind the camera. I have climbed from the sunny walls of Yosemite to the snowy massifs of the Alps and the great rock alpine paradise of Dolomites. Every summer I work as a mountain guide in these alpine scenaries. As International Alpine Mountain Guide and Rock Climbing instructor I create Southern Climbing Academy a climbing school specialized in the climbing process to start outdoor climbing for climbers with experience or not in indoor climbing.

My ROCK CLIMBING COURSES and ROCK TRIPS are focused in the best rock climbing crags of Andalucia. Thinking in variety of bolted routes  and good weather conditions in the dates of your visit.

ANDALUCIA is a large area for climbing and an extended territory to see everything in one visit. Plan your climbing trip focusing in one province (Malaga, Cadiz, Granada or Jaen have the main climbing zones). Choose the destination airport and from there choose a climbing zone or plan you tour. The most important airports are Malaga and Seville (Málaga has more low cost flights). Cádiz have two interantional airports as Jerez or Gibraltar.

The most popular and known climbing area for foreign climbers is El Chorro (Malaga), but there are a lot of small areas around Malaga and Cadiz, Granada and Jaen also have good areas.I help you discover them !

Whether you are an experienced climber who wants to advance in your challenges, or if you are a beginner climber (indoor climber), you can choose an advanced climbing course or hire my guiding services. Climbing with a Guide let you the opportunity to discover new crags, the best routes for your level, routes without run outs; climb in hard routes and safety with long quick draws in the crux... explained movements. You will enjoy the local knowledge that a climbing instructor has acquired over many years. As a local and experienced guide, I know the rare mountain climate of Andalusia and that means you don't waste a day changing objectives. Of course I also take into account your climbing level, and in this way I advise you about the best crags such as the easier routes or the perfect routes to warm up or particularities as pumping or run out routes...

GUIDED ROCK CLIMBING
Can be organised for virtually any climb in Andalucia and El Chorro too. Guiding for classical routes (not bolted) or sport routes (single and multi pitch routes) that you have always wished to do.
I can also combine guiding with climbing instruction so that you experience the very best of the many classic and bolted climbs that Andalucia has to offer.
A guided climb Is a perfect way to experience the best rock routes whilst making the best use of time. It is also a great way of gaining experience in climbing harder routes so that you can gain extra confidence and break through a grade barrier.
